Meet the Maker

Ah... the life of a multi-tasking, knitting enthusiast, right?

 

I'm Stacie and I'm the owner of Midnight Mama Knits.  I've been knitting since my early twenties, and now in my 40s, it's become a cherished part of my daily routine.

 

I was taught to knit by my husband's aunt as something to do while the guys were playing with their cars in the garage, (insert eye roll here - LOL)!  I never thought that I would be here, 20 years later, immersed in a culture that is so beautiful.  From the colours of yarn to the amazingly supportive community, this is a way of life I never want to leave. 

 

In between untangling yarn and designing my patterns, I play mom to a wonderfully spirited 10-year-old, who keeps me on my toes just as much as my stitches do.  And much to my delight, she's taken an interest in my knitting passion as well!  My other little troublemakers - two energetic black labs, (ages 2 and 3), ensure I'm always kept company while I work and knit. Always at my feet (well, on my feet) keeping me company.

 

My day job in Operations keeps the yarn flowing, but it's knitting that truly inspires me. The beauty of taking yarn and turning it into wearable (or usable) art, is something that brings me so much peace and happiness in this crazy world that we live in.  I decided at the end of 2022 that I want to share this passion of mine with anyone that will have me.  So for the past 2 years, I have been doing just that.

 

While my day to day life may be a whirlwind of crazy, there's always room for more stitches and creativity.
